Campus Party (Parte 3)
Aléguele a Galo
Antes que nada, mi amigo Pendiolo tiene razón. El cubrimiento que le hicimos los bloggers a Campus Party se centró principalmente en Campus Blog, el resto de conferencias y talleres apenas se mencionaron tangencialmente. Si a esto le sumamos que en los medios tradicionales se dedicaron a mostrar solamente a los "gamers" con pinta más extrañas haciendo ver el evento como un reinado de ñoños, la información sobre el resto de conferencias es prácticamente nula. Más que hablar de conferencia en conferencia, hablaré de la impresión que me dejaron en general cada una de las áreas puesto que fue poco lo que ví (campus crea no lo comento porque no le presté mayor atención):
-Astronomía: Qué bueno que tenga una sección en Campus Party, puesto que en nuestro país esta ciencia es casi ignorada. Sin embargo, más que de astronomía se habló de aplicaciones de software para astronomía, lo que limitó tal vez el interés del público. Interesante lo de la observación nocturna con telescopios.
-Robótica: Asistí a la conferencia del genoma robot y me gustó bastante. Básicamente se habló de utilizar cuatro circuitos para formar algo similar a una cadena de ADN y estudiar comportamientos genéticos. Hubo más concursos que otra cosa en esta sección.
-Desarrolladores: Por lo que ví se habló mucho de realidad aumentada. El viernes estaban haciendo algo como Rumba Second Life, allá ellos si prefieren la rumba virtual a la real.
-Juegos: Casi siempre estaba vacía. Los interesados en las conferencias estaban jugando. Se centró por lo que ví cómo "engallar" computadores para jugar. Hubo algo de desarrolladores de juegos.
-Simulación: Una semana de publicidad para Avianca.
-Software libre: Fue la más concurrida. La presencia de Jon Maddog le dio mucha altura al evento (por cierto, la conferencia la pueden escuchar en altair). También me gustó la conferencia de Timmu Leinomen sobre herramientas educativas, la cual fue una actividad conjunta con Campus Blog.
Ya hablando de Campus Blog (así le dé rabia a Pendiolo) me gustó bastante el panel del jueves (Observatorio de Medios) aunque a muchos les pareció algo ladrilludo. El del viernes sobre Twitter fue el más informal, tal vez fue el que más me gustó. Lástima que Ranaberden se haya quedado callada luego de que se le salió un madrazo porque era mucho lo que podía aportar. El sábado temprano hubo uno sobre blogs de fútbol que fue bueno pero limitado. Se centró como casi todos en Blogs vs Grandes Medios y la tolerancia y las buenas maneras en los blogs. El panel de la noche del sábado fue un tanto lento, tal vez porque era poco lo que había para preguntar. Fue raro que se llamara de Bloggers Famosos y Famosos Blogueros y todos los panelistas negaran su condición de famosos.
En términos generales el evento me gustó bastante. Fue muy bien organizado, siempre hubo información a la mano, hubo eventos desde temprano hasta tarde y se dio un buen intercambio de opiniones. Para el próximo año sería bueno que se incluyera algo sobre Podcasting, tema que no se trató en la programación oficial. No me gustó que la mayoría de la parte abierta al público general fuera solamente la de los stands de Levi's, Estilo RCN, Postobón y Renault, se supone que es una feria de tecnología, no un evento comercial. Se podía ver más tecnología en cualquier otro lado que en Campus Expo.
Post Scriptum: Gracias a todos los que me aguantaron en Campus Party. A los no paisas los espero en Medellín. Un agradecimiento especial a los de La Tengo Viva con quienes jugamos un partido en el que nos metieron 12 goles (ganamos un poco de acuerdo con la filosofía Maturana). También hubo tiempo para la creatividad blogueril con "Twittéame otra vez", el primer sencillo de los 14 Cañonazos Blogueables Volumen 2.0, que seguramente pegará en diciembre en todas las casas en las que haya un geek.
